My birthday is May 28th 1973. Santos is in the state of Sao Paulo. I started surfing at age 10 and thanks to God I never injured myself really bad and its being over 25 years of pure joy.
Within the first 3 years of surfing, I began my “Air” routines, regularly pulling off very difficult maneuvers in the water. An Air is a high-level surfing trick where the surfer flies off the wave and re-enters on the same wave. I also got good at tube riding really quick, probably helped by the wave’s conditions from where I grew up.
When I began surfing at my local spot in Brazil, I was probably the worse surfer out of a group of 17 kids, all of which surfed. All of the kids were from the same small street in a middle-to-upper class neighborhood. We would surf together, pushing each other’s surfing limits....More
